The Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), an institution of national importance, invites applications for various non-academic positions in Chemical and Physical Laboratories. Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualifications

For Chemical Laboratories:

  • Technologist:
    • B.E./B.Tech in Engineering OR Graduation in Chemistry/Polymer Science with a minimum of 55% marks.
    • Desirable: Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science.
  • Jr. Technologist:
    • B.E./B.Tech or Graduation in Science (with Chemistry as a subject) with a minimum of 55% marks.
    • Desirable: Postgraduate degree in Chemistry.

For Physical Laboratories:

  • Chief Technologist:
    • B.E./B.Tech in Engineering OR Master’s in Physics/Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks.
    • Desirable: PhD in the relevant discipline.
  • Technologist:
    • B.E./B.Tech or Graduation in Science (Physics/Mathematics as a subject) with a minimum of 55% marks.
    • Desirable: M.E./M.Tech or Master’s in Physics/Mathematics.
  • Jr. Technologist:
    • B.E./B.Tech, Diploma in Engineering, or Graduation in Science (Physics/Mathematics) with 55% marks.

2. Experience

  • Relevant experience in testing, laboratory management, or working with ISO-certified laboratories.
  • Candidates with advanced knowledge of chemical and physical testing methods for materials like polymers, leather, or textiles will be preferred.

3. Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years

Key Responsibilities

Chemical Laboratories

  1. Conduct chemical testing on raw materials and finished goods as per established standards.
  2. Prepare reports and maintain records of test results.
  3. Ensure compliance with ISO and other relevant standards for laboratory operations.

Physical Laboratories

  1. Perform physical tests on products, including tensile strength, durability, and material performance.
  2. Oversee the maintenance of laboratory equipment and ensure calibration.
  3. Provide technical support for product development and quality assurance processes.

Selection Process

  1. Screening of Applications:
    • Shortlisting will be based on educational qualifications and experience.
  2. Written Test/Interview:
    • Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email about the date and mode of the written test or interview.
  3. Final Selection:
    • Selection will be based on overall performance in the written test and interview, subject to document verification.

  3. Upload scanned copies of required documents.
  4. Submit the form and download the filled application.
  5. Send the hard copy of the application form along with supporting documents via speed post to:
