Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

• SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects (min. 55% marks) AND
• ITI Certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in the relevant trade OR
• 2 years full-time apprentice training in the relevant trade OR
• 3 years work experience in the relevant trade in a Government/PSU/Autonomous Body.

Age Limit

• Maximum 28 years for UR candidates as on 10/07/2025.
• Relaxations:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years
  • PwBD (UR): 10 years; PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years; PwBD (OBC): 13 years
  • ESM: 3 years (after deducting military service)
  • Departmental Candidates: 5 years
  • Widows/Divorced Women (UR): Up to 35 years; (SC/ST): Up to 40 years
  • Sports Quota: 5 years (10 years for SC/ST)

Other Conditions

• Candidates must be Indian citizens.
• Qualifications must be from recognized institutions.
• Experience must be post-qualification and verifiable.

Selection Process

Stage-I: Trade Test

• Shortlisted candidates (based on Screening Committee criteria) will undergo a Trade Test to assess suitability.

Stage-II: Competitive Written Examination

• Mode: OMR or Computer-Based Objective Type MCQ
• Medium: English and Hindi (except English Language questions)
• Standard: SSC + ITI/XIIth Standard
• Total Questions: 150
• Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
• Breakdown:
  • Paper-I (1 hour): Mental Ability Test (50 Qs, 100 marks, no negative marking)
  • Paper-II (30 minutes): General Awareness (25 Qs, 75 marks) + English Language (25 Qs, 75 marks) (1 negative mark per wrong answer)
  • Paper-III (1 hour): Concerned Subject (50 Qs, 150 marks, 1 negative mark per wrong answer)
• Papers II & III evaluated only if minimum threshold marks in Paper-I are secured.
• Final merit based on marks in Papers II & III.
• Tie resolution as per CSIR guidelines.
