Central Bank of India, a leading Public Sector Bank, invites online applications from eligible candidates for the engagement of Apprentices for the Financial Year 2025-26, under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This engagement is for 4500 training seats across various branches/offices in different regions.

  • No. of Training Seats: 4500 (Four Thousand Five Hundred Only)
  • Engagement Period: The period of engagement is 1 year for all candidates.
  • Stipend: The stipend for Metro and Urban branches is Rs. 15,000/-, Semi-Urban branches is Rs. 12,000/-, and Rural branches is Rs. 10,000/-.
  • Job Profile/Training: Apprentices will undergo training in various aspects of banking operations, which may include customer service, handling transactions, back-office operations, and other relevant areas as per the Bank’s requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Candidates must be an Indian citizen.
  • Educational Qualification: A graduate degree from a recognized university.
  • Local Language Proficiency: Candidates should be proficient in the local language (reading, writing, and speaking) of the State/UT from which they are applying. Knowledge of English is also required.
  • Reservation: Reservations are applicable as per Government of India guidelines for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwBD categories.
    • EWS Candidates: Must furnish an Income and Asset Certificate. Family gross annual income must be below Rs. 8 lakh. Specific asset exclusions apply (e.g., 5 acres agricultural land and above, residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above).
    • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): Must meet specific disability criteria and medical fitness standards.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 20 years.
  • Maximum Age: 28 years.
  • Age as on: May 31, 2025.
  • Age Relaxation: Permissible for various categories as per Government of India guidelines.
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years
    • PwBD: 10 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service in the armed forces + 3 years (subject to a maximum age of 45 years for UR, 48 for OBC, 50 for SC/ST)
    • Persons affected by 1984 Riots: 5 years for UR/EWS, 8 years for OBC, 10 years for SC/ST

Selection Process

The selection process involves:

  1. Online Written Test (OWL):
    • Structure: Consists of 5 parts.
      • Quantitative Aptitude
      • Reasoning Ability
      • General English/Hindi
      • Computer Knowledge
      • Banking Knowledge
    • Medium: English and Hindi.
    • Duration: 60 minutes.
    • Questions/Marks: 100 questions, 100 marks (each section carries 20 questions/marks).
    • Negative Marking: No negative marking for wrong answers.
    • Passing Marks: Candidates must obtain minimum passing marks as determined by the Bank.
  2. Local Language Test: Candidates selected will undergo a local language test if they have not studied the local language in their 8th, 10th, or 12th standard.
  3. Medical Examination: All provisionally selected candidates will undergo a medical examination to determine their fitness.
  4. Document Verification: Provisional selection is subject to verification of original documents.

Examination Fee

  • SC/ST/PwBD/Women Candidates: ₹200/- (inclusive of GST)
  • All Other Candidates: ₹800/- (inclusive of GST)
  • Fees are non-refundable. Payment is to be made online only.

  3. Click on the option “APPLY ONLINE” which will open a new window.
  4. Register by clicking “Click here for New Registration” and provide basic information.
  5. Upload scanned photograph and signature.
  6. Fill in the detailed application form and verify all information carefully.
  7. Pay the application fee online.
  8. Print the application form for future reference.
  • Important Note: Mobile phones, pagers, or any other communication devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination premises. Multiple applications by a candidate are not allowed and will lead to rejection.
