Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, invites applications for the posts of Contractual Geologist (Economic/Ore Geology) and Contractual Geologist (Sedimentology) on a contractual basis for immediate engagement at the Centre of Excellence for Energy Studies (CoEES), Guwahati.

Contract Details
- Tenure: 1 year, extendable for another year based on performance (maximum 2 years).
- Working Conditions: May include shifts, arduous/hazardous locations, and “on-call” duties.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualifications:
- M.Sc./M.Tech in Geology or Applied Geology from a recognized institution.
- PhD in the respective specialization.
- Skills & Experience:
- Economic/Ore Geology: Knowledge of economic geology, mineral deposits, geochemical prospecting, and data interpretation. Experience in field mapping and laboratory analysis using advanced tools (SEM, XRD, XRF, etc.).
- Sedimentology: Expertise in sedimentary geology, basin analysis, and petroleum exploration. Experience in sedimentary mapping and thin section petrography is desirable.
- Other Requirements:
- Strong IT, database, and communication skills.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals are preferred.
Selection Process
- Walk-In Interview:
- Total Marks: 100 (Minimum qualifying: 50).
- Evaluation based on professional knowledge, skills, attributes, and soft skills.
- Final Selection: Based on merit from interview scores.
